A friend of mine said to me, "I'm very thankful for all the books you're writing. I love that each book has discussion questions at the end of each chapter. I'm happy that the books are great resources for people I know. But, I'll never read your books.
What?! He promised he would never read them. Why? Because he didn't like to read. He was an audio book guy. He said, "I'll wait till they come out on audio so I can listen while I drive and while I work out."
His words haunted me. I really enjoy writing books, but the fact is that a small percentage of people actually read--especially men. I heard a statistic that only seventeen percent of men read a complete book after they are beyond college age. I could write till the cows come home, but my writing would do no good if people weren't reading.
Then, a new audio book innovation appeared on the scene. Amazon launched an Audible Audio Book beta that transforms the written word into an audio format. When I was offered a chance to participate, I jumped at it. It works great--and even offers a variety of voices to choose from. Why, I could have voiced my books as a cool Aussie or a suave Brit (but I chose a voice that sounded most like me). That's why eight of my books are now available on Audible.

After stepping into full-time life as an author last fall, I was finally able to fine-tune the Audible versions. Even the study and discussion guides are tailored for a listener who wants to ponder important questions and life-changing issues. Press pause as you travel to think about how the chapters apply to your life. Take a thought break while walking on the treadmill so you can grow and let the messages of each chapter sink in.
I invite you to try out the Audible books, tell your friends, and leave some five-star ratings as you listen. I am confident that you will be inspired, strengthened, and blessed by the content. You can find links to the Audible books on the Books page of my website or by searching Michael W. Newman on Amazon. After you listen, please tell me what you think. If you don't have the time or inclination to read, a new day has dawned! Enjoy and be blessed!
